Flying a drone and having it end up crashing and damaged is what all flyers fear.
Flying over the water may have confused the height sensors.
Splashes were seen as it touched down on the waters surface but due to quick reaction from the operator managed to rise it up.
But by that time the drone had also moved under the bridge and upon going up it hit the roof and lost control.
I phoned my friend who owns a canal boat, but he was away on holiday.
Maybe I could get some waders or an inflatable and float across (maybe have these handy if there is a next time).
Since I never had those, I decided to look at either side from the road above for access, and on one bank it seemed ok if I waas willing to push and bash my way through the brambles.
So I gave it a go and got down to the edge, but it was slippery with overgrown weeds.
I managed to slide my legs down onto the ledge which was covered in Rat droppings. Then I shimmied along 30 ft to reach my drone, and then shimmied back again.
